Lala

Hey there, welcome to my Blog! Since writing something about myself is quite challenging, I opted to write mine in a “Q’s and A’s”.

5 WH’s about me

1. What is your real name?

My Baptismal Certificate says my name is Mary Grace Lalaine Tabay. My parents got Mary and Grace from my grandmothers, both paternal and maternal. Luckily, my Birth Certificate says my name is Lalaine Tabay. Both are actually too feminine for me (hey, don’t get me wrong, it’s not what you think it is! ) I just loved to be called “Lala.

2. Where are you from?

I am from the Philippines but currently based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

3. What do you do?

I am a licensed teacher in the Philippines but been working in the aviation industry for the last 6 years.

4. What are your hobbies?

I adore crafting. My eyes grow big with nicely colored papers, lovely cardstocks, colorful pens, bunch of stamps and punches and so on. Given much time, I like making things handmade. I feel like it’s more personal and customizing makes things more special. It’s also relaxing for me and a good diversion from the buzz of the corporate world.

I’m also a travel-buff. While most ladies reward themselves with shopping, I reward myself with travels. Though I can only do it on my vacation from work and long holidays, this is one of the things that I really look forward each year and I’m undeniably excited about it. Visiting new places is my way of giving myself the “ME” time that I deserved. I love the freedom and peace of mind that travelling gives.

5. Why would you like to blog?

Early last year, my cousin told me to blog, but I’m half-hearted with the idea. I felt like not having much time to write so I didn’t pave a way to start. Last December of 2014, God has planted that desire in my heart. I realized that I have everything I needed to start and His favors are already around me. God uses my cousins Shareena to pop the idea, Ian, to address the technicalities of setting up the blog (by the way, his wife Lady is a blogger too. So he is an expert.) and my brother Mark, a photo- savvy who helped me out taking the photo that I want. Not to forget, Vanes, my soon to be sister-in-law who is all the way so supportive of what we are doing. Do I lack anything more? Ideas and wisdom. These are something from God.

By the time that I decided to write, the ideas that I needed freely flow like a running water. It never chooses a place and time. They crack at any moment and flows wherever I am. So I jot down notes, preventing me to forget them.

I write because I was led to.

I write because I want to glorify God.

I write because I want to touch lives.

I write because I want people to see God’s faithfulness in every place that I traveled to.

I write because I want every woman to realize that they are significant to God.

Travelling hooked me for real! In Love and Amazed with cultures captivated by joy every time I see local residents lavishly giving back their smiles. My wonders and wanders are documented firstly because I wanted to remember them. Secondly, I wanted to inspire and change people’s perspective about countries. I wanted to create that desire in you to see and experience people because only by then that you will know. Act on your wonders and allow your feet to bring you there! That’s my Calling!
